Search Committee duly constituted by the Executive Council of NLUJA, Assam for the purpose of recommending a panel of names for the vacant post of Vice-Chancellor of the University, hereby invites applications/nominations from eminent academicians in the field of Law, who are eligible and interested for the post of Vice-Chancellor

The Vice-Chancellor is expected to be a distinguished academician with the highest level of competence, integrity, morals and institutional commitment. The person to be appointed as Vice-Chancellor should have a minimum of ten years’ experience as Professor in a University or ten years’ of experience in a reputed research and/or academic administrative organisation with proof of having demonstrated academic leadership. The person appointed should have proven leadership quality and ability to lead the University’s mission of promoting teaching and research at the highest level of excellence. The Vice-Chancellor should also have the ability to promote the University at national and international level for development of strong linkages with institutions of repute, government and industry.

Pay, allowances and other emoluments of the Vice-Chancellor will be as per UGC guidelines and Central Government notifications, issued from time to time. The term of the office of the Vice-Chancellor shall be for a period of not more than three years and he/she is eligible for re-appointment.
