Profile

Dr. Himangshu Ranjan Nath is an Assistant Professor of Law of the National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam. Before joining NLUJAA he has worked as Assistant Professor of Law in the Centre for Juridical Studies, Dibrugarh University, Dibrugarh, Assam and in the NERIM Law College, Guwahati, Assam. He has completed his LL.M in 2013 having specialisation in Constitutional and Administrative Law from Department of Law, Gauhati University. He has completed his B.A.LL.B in 2011 from Centre for Juridical Studies, Dibrugarh University. He has also qualified the UGC-NET (Law) in 2013 and awarded Ph. D. (Law) by the Gauhati University for his research entitled “Civil Liberty and Judicial Dynamism in India: An Analytical Study” in 2023. He has to his credit a few papers presented in international and national seminars. He has participated in several workshops and conferences and also contributed a few research articles in reputed journals and periodicals.

Dr. Nath is currently engaged in teaching Constitutional Law papers in both the graduate and post-graduate level. On administrative front, he is serving as the NSS Programme Co-ordinator for NLUJAA since 2021 and Co-coordinator of Centre for Child Rights, NLUJAA since 2020. He is an active member of the Legal Aid Cell and several other administrative and academic committees of the NLUJAA. He has also discharged his duty as the Returning Officer for the NLUJAA Student Bar Council Election for five years.

Dr. Nath is also a visitor to the Assam Administrative Staff College, State Institute for Panchayat and Rural Development (Assam), North Eastern Police Academy (Meghalaya), National institute of Public Cooperation & Child Development (Regional centre at Assam) etc. as a resource person.
