Present Campus

At present National Law School and Judicial Academy, Assam is functioning from a temporary campus. The temporary campus has set up at NEJOTI building (North East Judicial Officers' Training Institute) in Ulubari area of Guwahati which accommodated the first batch of students of B.A, LL.B. (Hons.) Five Years Integrated Course. Necessary facilities like Hostels, Library, Computer Lab, Video Conferencing Hall, Faculty Common Room, Conference Hall, Moot Court, Recreation Hall, Dining Hall and Canteen etc. have already been set up in the campus. Since it will take time to shift the University to its permanent campus at Amingaon, North Guwahati another two floors will be constructed in the same NEJOTI building to accommodate the next batch of B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) and the first batch of LL.M. PG Course students.

Permanent Campus

The permanent campus of National Law School and Judicial Academy, Assam is being constructed at Amingaon (near the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati. It is located in close proximity to the LokopriyaGopinathBordoloi International Airport and the campus will be fully equipped with necessary amenities to create a vibrant learning environment.The construction work of the Academic blocks, the Administrative block and the residential campus will be completed within a short period of time so that the University will start functioning from its permanent campus as easily as possible. At present, the permanent campus is being built in available land area of 21 acre, which will be increased to approximately 47 acre within a short span of time.

Hostels

National Law School and Judicial Academy, Assam from its very inception endeavours to facilitatethe overall growth of its students. In this respect the University has developed the homely atmosphere in its residential campus for the students, so that the students are at ease to nurture their potentialities in a congenial atmosphere. To describe the NLUJA Hostels we can say that they are not simply residence; rather they are “homes away from homes”. In this homely atmosphere different cultures merge to testify the Indian character of “Unity in Diversity”, and it also results in the proliferation of original academic ideas.

To accommodate its first batch of students NLUJA has two well-furnished and well-equipped hostels – one each for the boys and the girls. The students are provided with comfortable rooms with all the necessary facilities. The entire campus has Wi-Fi connectivity, and along with that all the students are provided with bed, table, chair, curtain and cupboard. Proper sanitation is maintained by the Housekeeping staff with regular morning and afternoon services. Hostels have 24-hour running hot and cold water facility.The Hostels have a Common-Room each, equipped with LCD television having Dish connectivity, indoor games facilities, and a small manicured garden with a verdant lawn for the visual and aesthetic pleasure. Moreover, there is a well-furnished Dining-Hall for the residents of the Hostels, and the Mess Committee reviews the food quality on regular basis. To ensure uninterrupted power supply, the Hostels have their own generators. Tea/Coffee vending machines, Xerox and print-out facilities, and 24 hours male and female security for the hostels are some of the other features which ensure that students enjoy basic amenities and security.

To maintain the sanctity of the academic atmosphere of the hostels ragging, smoking, consumption of alcohol and any kind of vandalism are strictly prohibited within the Hostel premise. The Institution sees to it that Students adhere to the disciplinary requirements. Students must also identify a local guardian who can be contacted in any emergency. The residents are not permitted to leave campus without permission and are not allowed to stay outside their Halls of Residence, after specified hours. To ensure the sound health of the students the Hostels have proper arrangements of medical first-aid, and in case of health emergency the University has arranged the assistance of the Doctors of a nearby Nursing Home. The Wardens stay in the campus and the students are free to approach any of the Wardens regarding any problem, inconvenience, ill health etc.

Library

The NLUJAA Library, though it is in a nascent stage, is a fully functional library. Keeping in view the demand of modern learning theLibrary has been developed in a manner which will enhance research, innovative and independent original thinking from the students, researchers, scholars and teachers alike. The library is already equipped with Wi-Fi connection, online database, law books, social sciences books, current journals, general magazines, news papers etc. On all working days the library is open from 9:00 a.m. till 8:30in the evening.

The Law School library in its endeavor to provide the best of education and research facilities has already piled up a stock of more than twenty three hundred books, not counting the Law Reports. To facilitate electronic-research it has tied up with international legal database like Lexis Nexis etc. Subscription for other online databases like Cambridge law online, Corporate Law Adviser, Hein-Online, Indian Law Company, Manupatra, SCC-Online, UGC-Infonet Consortium, West Law India is on the process. To keep the students up to date with the current affairsthe Library has subscribedtodifferent newspapers, general magazines,law journals and competition magazines.

Computer Lab

To facilitate the field of e- learning and e-research which is also a part of the university curriculum, the university has developed a well-equipped computer laboratory with Wi-Ficonnectivity.There are skilled staffs to assist in the laboratory. The laboratory provides students with good number of computers with the latest software. Printing facility is also available in the laboratory.The laboratory remains open from 9 A.M. to 8.30 P.M.

The entire university campus is Wi-Fi enabled. The classrooms are also connected with internet and well-equipped with the State of the Art communication mechanisms. The university has already subscribed e-database provider like Lexis Nexis etc. Tie-ups with many other leading online legal research database providers are also on the process.
