Dr. Jupi Gogoi, is Assistant Professor of Law (Regular) at the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi and held position of Assistant Professor of Law (Regular) at the Indian Law Institute, Delhi from 2012 to 2018. She completed her LL.M. from the Indian Law Institute with specialisation in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and Human Rights Law and her Ph.D. from Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) on the topic “The Protection of Agricultural and Natural Goods under the GI Act, 1999: A Socio-Legal Study with Special Reference to the State of Assam.” Her core interest areas are Intellectual Property Rights, Human Rights and IT Laws. She has made many academic contributions in critical areas of law and her writings have found place in reputed journals and books including CSIR-Journal of Intellectual Property Rights, Annual Survey of Indian Law, Journal of the Indian Law Institute, Indian Law Review, Banaras Law Journal etc., editorials in leading newspapers like The Hindu and Assam Tribune. She has co-edited a book on ‘IPR and Human Rights with Special Emphasis on India’ (Indian Law Institute Publications, New Delhi, ISBN 978-81-927926-4-4) and co-authored a book, “A Comparative Study on ICT Laws in India and Korea” (Korea Legislative Research Institute, Sejong, South Korea, ISBN 978-89-6684-534-7). She has participated and presented papers in many seminars, conferences, symposiums; attended orientation programme, summer school, refresher courses and many faculty developments programmes.
She has the experience of teaching both post-graduate and under-graduate law students as well supervised 35 LLM dissertations. The subjects she taught included Copyright and Related Rights, Trademark, Geographical Indications, Designs, Patents, Sui Generis Mode of IPR Protection, Indian Legal System, Constitutional Law, Comparative Constitutional Law, Information Technology Law, Family Law II, Judicial Process. She was the Course Co-ordinator of the ILI Online Certificate Course of Intellectual Property Rights (2014-2018) and Cyber Law (2013-2014). She has completed a major project of ILI on ‘Transparency Audit of Public Institutions’ of Central Information Commission, New Delhi.’ She has co-ordinated numerous programmes, including a National conference on ‘Intellectual Property Rights and Public Interest in India, ILI, 2017’ and a “Four-week Training cum Certificate Course on Legal Aspects of Contract Managementconducted for THDC India Limited (THDCIL) (2013-2014) by the Indian Law Institute.
She has been invited as resource person and has headed sessions in various seminars, conferences and expert lectures in reputed institutions like MNLU, Nagpur; Jesus and Mary College, Delhi; Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University, New Delhi; NLUJA, Assam; ILI, Delhi; Amity Law School, Noida; LCB College, Guwahati; Jorhat Bar Association; Ajeenkya DY Patil University, Pune etc. She has been the external examiner of various institutions like Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi; Kumaon University, Uttarakhand; Sharda University, Greater Noida; NLUJA, Assam and has judged many moot court competitions.
She has been the core editorial committee member of Delhi Journal of Contemporary Law (Journal of Law Centre II, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi) and has been the reviewer of many reputed journals like the CSIR-NISCAIR JIPR, ILI Law Review, Korea Legislative Research Institute Journal of Law and Legislation, Lloyds Law College Journal, Indian Journal of Public Administration etc.

She has been member of many important committees of the Indian Law Institute like Board of Studies from 2014 to 2016, Academic Council from 2016 to 2018, Academic Programme Committee from 2012 to 2015, Centre of Post Graduate Legal Studies (CPGLS)/Academic Programme Committee (ACP) from 2013 to 2018. In Law Centre II, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, she has been member of Online Journal Committee, Committee to look into grievances of people belonging to North Eastern States, Debates and Discussions Society, Lectures, Seminars and Conferences Committee.
